Scholarship Name:
Ninety-Nines Bay Cities Chapter Pilot Training Scholarship
Purpose:
The Bay Cities chapter of the Ninety-Nines is proud to announce our 2016 scholarship to provide funding toward pilot training materials, ground school, or exams. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide a little extra monetary assistance to a woman working on her flight ratings.
Eligibility:
- Any female student pilot residing within 99 nautical miles of the Oakland Airport
- Applicant must be at least 16 years of age
- Applicant must either already be a private or sport pilot, or be eligible for a private pilot or sport pilot license within the USA
- Applicant must hold a current medical certificate
- Applicant does not need to be a member of the 99s
Value:
$1,000.00
Application Submission Process and Completion Date:
Submit the following documents:
- A completed copy of the ‘Application Cover Sheet’ – included in application
- A one-page letter introducing yourself and your aviation goals. Include information on your financial need, community involvement, and aviation involvement
- A completed copy of the ‘Budget Statement’- included in application
- A one-page letter of recommendation, preferably from a CFI or other aviation professional
- A copy of your medical certificate
Email the 5 items, clearly identified, to scholarships@baycities99s.org.
Selection Process:
- This scholarship is for items such as books, headsets, exams, check rides, etc. Note: Flight lessons and ground lessons are not eligible for reimbursement.
- Applicants may be asked to participate in a phone interview with the scholarship committee.
- Funds must be claimed within one year of the date the scholarship is awarded.
- An original receipt will be required for reimbursement and must be signed by both the scholarship winner and a CFI.
- The scholarship committee will notify the winning candidate, and all candidates who did not qualify, by May 21, 2016.

Thank you for your continued generous support of the $1000 scholarship award that will provide me with necessary funding towards obtaining my private pilot certificate. This opportunity is a fresh start for a new and exciting career as a corporate or commercial airline pilot.
