Continental Motors Advanced Training Scholarships
Purpose:
Awarded to current A & P Students or Certified A & P Mechanics. One week course covers general engine theory, crankcase threading, crankshaft component R&R, cylinder R&R, fuel injection system calibration, 100-hour/annual inspection topics, cylinder borescope inspections and ignition systems hands-on.

Current A & P Students or Certified A & P Mechanics.

- Resume including: Education with school name(s), locations and dates. Work experience: Employers, job description and dates of employment. Qualifications: any applicable licenses and certificates. Honors: Scholastic Achievements, Community Service, Leadership, Extracurricular Activities
- Essay: Specific to scholarship, 200 words, include how the scholarship will enhance your career
- Two letters of recommendation
- Documentation: an unofficial copy of transcript and/or a copy of your A & P Certificate

History/Background:
AWAM’s Scholarship Program supports the diverse skills required in the field of Aviation Maintenance & Technology. AWAM began its scholarship program in 2002 with four scholarships awarded to eight recipients. In 2016, AWAM awarded over $165,000 in scholarships to 36 females and 8 males. The year before, AWAM awarded over $130,000 in scholarships to 24 females and 12 males. With the assistance of our incredible sponsors, this program continues to grow to support our industry and the needs of the future. Unique scholarship opportunities are not just for initial students or just for females. Many are for those already working in the field, transitioning from the military, and for guys as well.
For 2017, AWAM is pleased to announce we will be awarding over $185,000.00 in scholarships.
