My name is Brennan and I am from Bend OR. I will be a first year student at Central Oregon Community College this fall and enrolling in the Aviation program. I have applied for financial aid that will cover a fair amount of my schooling but there is a large financial gap I need to fill. More than i can cover from just working. I know there are a lot of scholarships and grants available out there but don’t know where to find them all. Is there a list of them that you would recommend or a good resource for finding them?
Thank you,
Brennan
Thanks for the question Brennan. I am compiling a list and adding information to this website. For now go to episode 34 for links to some good resources.
Also sign up for our newsletter because we will send updates when we add information to the website concerning job opportunities, loans, grants, and scholarships.
I am 29yrs old I have a college degree currently persuing my private pilots license. I plan to use my GI BILL (prior army vet)to help cover the cost of my ratings from intrument to as far as I can push it. My wife is Originally from england and we have hopes of relocating back there at some point. My question is is it possible for a pilot to possess more than one ATP type. I have been doing some research and EASA-ATPL is the ATP type needed to fly in Europe. Any information you can find about this conversion or even having both would ve very helpful
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I recently found your podcast and I listen very chance I get. I have been a state trooper for just over 20 years. In 2012, I started private pilot trading along with an online bachelor degree program through Utah Valley University. I have earned my private and have an instrument rating. I have passed my commercial written and will be taking my check ride soon with multiengine to follow quickly after that. I currently have 400 hours, most of which is cross country time in complex high performance aircraft. I plan on retiring in two and a half years when I turn 50. By then I will have a bachelor degree in aviation and will be looking forward to starting a new career as a professional pilot. I have so many questions but the main one concerns this. During my initial private pilot training in 2013, while on the long cross country solo, I crashed the airplane while aborting a landing. As soon as I healed, I finished my private pilot and have had no further accidents or incidents. Will this accident, which occurred while I was a student pilot, prevent me from flying for the airlines or severely impact my ability to get the flying jobs needed to reach ATP minimums?

Hi Carl,
I have been listening to your podcast since I got back into aviation in 2019 and I really appreciate the value that you bring! I am preparing for an interview in which I am told that they often ask “why should we hire you over everybody else that we are interviewing?” I am really struggling with this question and I am wondering if you would be so kind as to do a podcast episode to give us some advice on how to answer it?
P.S. I tried to send this through the “contact” section on this page, but that is not working.
Where can I find the link for the free scholarship guide? I have been unable to find it on your website.
